Our rainbow family has lost one of our own.

The tragic news of the murder of Brianna Ghey at such a young age has struck a chord in all of us. The entire Pride network and its members have come together this week to stand together in remembrance of such a bright light being extinguished far too early, and under tragic circumstances.

Standing together shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with each other is the embodiment of this network, making a stand and raising the voice of the minorities so we are heard and we are listened to. Every night this week has seen our members standing vigil with their respective communities sending our love and deepest condolences to the friends and family of Brianna.

This continued attack on our trans community here in the UK needs to stop, and our government needs to step in and stop weaponising the trans community for their own political gain, which is sadly what is happening here in the UK. Real political change and reform is needed to allow our trans community to live without fear and with respect.

Rest in Power, Brianna Ghey.
